144x105 cm. Acrylic on canvas. Working on this painting was an ethereal, almost ‘other-worldly’ experience for me. I am normally known for my very colorful and vibrant work. But when I started painting this one, I went into a state of trance. It was almost as if something inside of me took over. I painted non-stop and finished this in one go. When I stepped back, the trance was broken. I looked at it and knew that this was it. I am not going to add any color to it. I was shaky, sweaty and had to lay down for a bit. I have never experienced anything like this before. Invariably, I called it devoid.
