There's a black scorpion on your shoulder." I froze as he swiftly shrugged it off. Everyone in the Jeep was shaken. "How did it sit there for four hours without stinging her dead?" My mom marveled at my good fortune. Years later that question got answered tonight: Everybody loves a portrait. The scorpion spared me so I could paint it.
